How To Set Goals in 2020

Updated: Jan 4, 2020

The chances of achieving goals start to decline when they are too many. THREE goals is often the ideal number. Not seen anyone deliver on a “7-point agenda” - though, I must confess, it does have a nice ring to it! (LOL moment)

And then add tangible measures.

Fewer #goals force you to prioritize what’s really important, giving all your desires “weights” so you don’t get lost in excess activities with few measurable outcomes.

In 2020, I want to:

1. Learn enough French to have a basic conversation with a native speaker.

2. Start a new business that gives me a minimum of $1,000 in monthly revenue

3. Move closer to work”,

will likely deliver more than...

In 2020, I want to:

Learn Spanish

Lose weight

Start a business

Have my website

Make money

Travel abroad,

In short, “I must blow!

(Religious folks may substitute "blow" with more “righteous terms” like “expand”, “overcome”, “breakthrough”)

The latter may evoke excitement and a temporary adrenaline rush, but in reality, means very very little or even nothing at all.

Too many goals and no way to measure progress.

And what you cannot MEASURE, you can’t IMPROVE
